The Black Guardian, wanting revenge on the Doctor, sends Turlough to assassinate him under the guise of a new companion. Nyssa departs the TARDIS to make the most of her scientific genius and the Doctor is teamed up with his previous incarnations to stop a Time Lord's bid for immortality.
